Peter Gjelsten

Peter started learning the violin in 2009 with the Suzuki Method, with Lynley Culliford before beginning his studies with Monique Lapins in 2021. Peter has attended numerous Suzuki camps and workshops in Wellington, Masterton, Auckland, Napier and Ithaca, New York. He was co- recipient of the Arts Person of the Year award as a Year 12 student at Wellington College. Peter has been playing chamber music since 2011. (Participated in YMP programme 2011-18) He entered the NZCT Chamber Music competition for 5 years, and was awarded the First Prize award in 2019 playing viola and First Prize in 2020 playing violin. Peter was coached by members of the NZSQ in both these years. In 2020 and 2021 he was accepted into the Adam Summer School on the violin.

Mana Waiariki

Mana is in her first year studying a Bachelor of Music Majoring in Classical Violin Performance at the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand School of Music under the guidance of Helene Pohl. Mana was an active member of the Auckland Youth Orchestra for 5 years, a member of the New Zealand Secondary School’s Symphony Orchestra for 2 years where she was the principal of the second violins in her last year, and she has been in the NZSO National Youth Orchestra for 2 years and in 2020 she was the principal of the second violins. Mana has been playing in the Eden Quartet since the summer of 2019.

Tal Amoore

Tal Amoore is a charismatic young violist and the founder and manager of the Eden Quartet. Beginning his studies at the age of 15 he is now in his first year of tertiary study at NZSM under NZSQ violist Gillian Ansell. Tal has played with the Afflatus Ensemble since 2021 as a soloist, and principal violist, New Zealand Secondary School's Symphony Orchestra for two years and as principal violist in his second year, and has also played with the NZSO National Youth Orchestra, Auckland Youth Orchestra and Wellington Youth Orchestra

Jack Moyer

Jack first started playing the cello at age 7 learning the Suzuki method. He completed his grade 8 with distinction at age 13. As a enthusiastic chamber musician, last year Jack was a member of the quartet Reavaltion which won the NZCT national chamber music competition. Jack is principal cello of the Wellington Youth Orchestra and played principal cello with the New Zealand Secondary Schools orchestra (2019-2020). He also has played with the National Youth Orchestra. Jack is currently in his final year of high school at Onslow College and is studying with NZSO Principal Cellist Andrew Joyce and NZSQ cellist Rolf Gjelsten.
